For cupcakes: in the bowl of a stand mixer, place flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and mix.

Add the sour cream, butter, egg, egg yolks and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.

Add the cotton candy and gently stir to combine.

Place the mixture into the prepared muffin cups.

Bake for about 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove the muffin tin from oven and place onto a wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes.

Carefully invert the cupcakes onto the wire rack to cool completely before frosting.
